Bordeaux Wine Exchange ('bwinex') sets new standards for trading wines.
bwinex is managing a new wine trading platform, a global, secure and anonymous electronic marketplace to trade wines, with guarantee of execution, payment and delivery of the highest standards of wine provenance.
bwinex has set a first benchmark with the publication of its IWIN™ - International Wine Identification Number (akin to the ISBN in the publication industry). It uniquely categorises wines according to their provenance, vintage, year, etc. therefore simplifying current wine identifications, trade processes and significantly reducing the risk of errors in the whole wine trade value chain.
bwinex is looking to set new industry standards by conducting wine trading at a single point of access through a dedicated user interface fully compliant with financial industry standards.
This provides a fully automated, real-time interaction within the bwinex market, covering the full life cycle of managing wine trades. All bwinex' trades conducted through its platform are fully secure and anonymous, being cleared and settled through wineClear, its Bordeaux-based clearing, settlement and depositary operations warehouse.
bwinex was created with the objective to transform the current over-the-counter wine trading by offering a platform enforcing the best practices for this industry. This is a subject that bwinex works very closely with its Members who are all established Négociants, known and respected in Bordeaux, and globally.
bwinex works today a strong Member core, to provide a standardised, accessible, around-the-clock marketplace as an alternative to previously fragmented markets. bwinex gives its Négociants Members a unique opportunity to reach new customers globally and trade their wines securely, anonymously and cost-effectively.
